Gweryd Lakes (Nr Mold)

Gewryd Lakes (Nr Mold) 13-14th September 2011

I have fished Gweryd lakes a few times and had great days on both course lakes. With the weather being so bad I fished the lower lake Llyn Ewan, for some shelter from the wind, but it was that rough still had to batten down most of my gear.

Llyn Ewan is the smaller of the two course lakes and set at the bottom of the valley in very beautiful surroundings, and the most peaceful lake of the two. The lake has well placed pegs with good access to all and of good standing. There is as an ample sized car park, toilet block with shower, two modern static caravans, and good pitches for camping.

I have fished this water a few times and camped on each occasion. I have had big bags of bream, good tench, and there are plenty of large shoals of roach and rudd with good perch about. This is great water for feeder fishing and fishing up in the water by features for good roach and rudd.

The facilities on site are excellent, including tackle/camping shop, cafe, bed and breakfast, camping, and caravanning. The staff are more than helpful and the whole site is clean and tidy and of high quality.
