Charity Farm Fishery Wrightington (Wigan).

Charity Farm Fishery Wrightingtom nr Wigan February 11th 2011

My first trip out in Lancashire this year, and even though it started slow it turned out to be a great day.
Charity farm is a fishery with four pools on a working farm including camping and livery. The facilities and access are excellent
, large car park with self service day ticket booth, clean toilets, with well maintained and easy access to all pools, and vending machines if needed. The owner (Fred) could not have been more helpful and pleasant.

I fished the number two pool, with one other angler already fishing. It started off slow, but soon started to pick up, most fish taken by myself after 12pm, the other angler taking fish regular all day, I think he knew something I did not. The pool and bank was clean with plenty of features and pegs were stable and of good size.

Fish were of great quality and a good size, bream, tench, carp and roach. Tench were a bonus for February and a good size, approx 4lb. The other angler fishing three pegs away must have taken well over 100lb today, his elastic never seemed to stay in his pole.
