Ruddy Pond 10th April 2013

I arrived at ruddy pond at 10.30 for a some what unplanned visit, as I have fished this great venue lots of times and with the temperature beginning to rise I thought a short session fishing the tip was in order to try and land a carp or two.
After a chat with Andy the fishery owner I set up on peg 3 to fish tight to the reeds just under the tree on the bank opposite.
I set up my 10ft tip rod with a free running drennan cage feeder filled with fishmeal ground bait mix  with red maggots mixed in and a hair rigged piece of corn and off I went.
First cast the tip went round but I missed it, the next cast the tip whipped round and I was in a nice 6lb mirror carp,  with lots of carp showing I thought here we go.
I fished on till 2.30 landing 10 f1's and a roach taken on maggots and corn hook bait.
With the weather forecast to get warm I will  be back at this super fishery to land a few more of its big head of carp on a full session.
